This song was written by Alvin Love III, son of the gospel music star CeCe Winans, and performed by Love and his Alvin Love Band. It is part of his 2010 debut EP, a 5-track release titled The Strawberry Project. This serenade refers to its focal lady as "an old-fashioned beauty"; for sure, this is true of the lyrics themselves. Nevertheless, Love's writing has this quality without losing its feeling of freshness and sense of (mild) humor. But strawberry lovers are really interested in the strawberries! So just what is the role of strawberries in this song? Love makes the sweetness of "all the strawberries in the world" the standard to measure his love against. A pretty high standard! Love suggests that his love is sweeter than all those strawberries... and also suggests that "it might sound crazy...". Yeah, it sounds a little crazy to strawberry lovers! But the song is still great! In the end, the word that might best describe Love's Strawberries is "charming". It is sure to be one of the most beloved strawberry tunes of all time. (Note: the review for this song is included simply to introduce strawberry lovers to a great strawberry tune. If you like the song, please do the right thing, and buy a copy. Thank you!)
