Strawberry Parfait

Imagine this on YOUR table!

"Parfait" is the French word for "perfect", and that's just what this wonderful dish is! It's beautiful pink and white stripes tell you this will be an amazing experience... and the taste does not dissappoint! For something so impressive, it is actually very simple to make!

Strawberry Parfait Dessert Recipe

  • 1 Cup (250 mL) Strawberry or Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 Cup (250 mL) Strawberry Mousse
  • 1 Nice-looking Strawberry (Garnish)
  • 2 Tablespoons (30 mL) Whipped Cream (Garnish)

Once you have everything you need to make your parfait, it's really quick to make. Just spoon a layer of ice cream into the bottom of your serving glass, then add a layer of strawberry mousse, then another layer of ice cream, and then a final layer of mousse. Top the parfait with the whipped cream and the nice-looking strawberry. Then it's time to spoon it all back out... and into your mouth!

The glass used for the parfait in the photograph above is known as a "hurricane" glass. It is customary to use a stemmed glass of some form when serving parfaits: the stem of the glass holds the frozen ingredients above the table, thereby preventing them from melting as fast. It is also recommended that you use a glass that is clear, colorless, and smooth, so that the beauty of the parfait can be seen.
