Nothing says "high school dance" more than a bowl of punch! It's great for other get-togethers, too! Here's how you make the memories:
Strawberry Punch Drink Recipe
- 2 Cups (500 mL) Fresh Strawberries
- 2 Cups (500 mL) Pineapple Juice
- 2 Cups (500 mL) Orange Juice
- 1/2 Cup (125 mL) Grenadine
- 1/2 Gallon (2 Liter) Club Soda, Lemon-Lime Soda Or Ginger Ale
- Large Ice Cubes
Place the 2 cups of strawberries in a blender and blend until smooth. Add the pineapple and orange juices and the grenadine, and blend until well-mixed (these ingredients mix easier in the blender, and everything will pour out of the blender more completely than the strawberries by themselves would). Pour the contents of the blender into a punch bowl, then add in the bottle of whichever soda you've chosen to use. Stir gently, adding ice as necessary to keep the punch cold.
A few notes:
- NEVER blend soda in a blender! You will lose all the carbonation as well as make a HUGE mess! It's also dangerous if the blender seals completely, since the released gas will build dangerous pressure in the blender.
- The 2 cups of pineapple juice are roughly the amount of juice in two 16-ounce (1/2 kilogram) cans of pineapple rings. This recipe calls for 100% juice, so if you use the "syrup" from cans of pineapple rings with "light syrup" or "heavy syrup", please remember that the punch will be much sweeter.
- True club soda doesn't contain any sweetener or flavor (except for a rather slight acidity). If you add lemon-lime soda or ginger ale, please remember that they will effect both the flavor and sweetness of the punch.
- It is best for these ingredients to be refrigerated for 1-2 hours BEFORE mixing, since this will decrease the rate at which the ice melts in the punch and waters it down.
Makes a bit less than 1 gallon (3.6 Liters).
